Lent – Day 28 Worship Anywhere

Psalm‬ ‭150‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬‬‬
Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! “

‭‭ I have been traveling a lot this week. Monday I was in Maryland and WestVirginia. Today I am in Ohio preparing to be part of the Allegheny West Provisional Special Session. As I have been traveling the song Praise You Anywhere ‬‬has been randomly playing. One of the focuses that I continue to remember is that worship is everywhere and happens anywhere or can.
How or where we worship is not the important part – what I believe is important that worship becomes a lifestyle of commitment to worship in the Spirit wherever or how ever we are.

Often, I believe we get caught up in the formality and tradition of worship. We think worship has to happen at a certain time or a certain place in a certain scripted way. There is a thought that the only true place you can worship is in a church building. When Jesus came and walked through the earth, he broke through traditions and religion. Look who Jesus worshiped with and where. And because of worship in Spirit and Truth look at the lives changed, and the hope developed.

True worship begins in your heart. Worship isn’t about music or singing or whatever else we have made it. True worship is expressing your love and gratitude to God. Worship can happen anywhere; it has and will again.
