John 14:26 ESV But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
Are you more of a note writer or a note receiver. I occasionally have someone leave me a note as a reminder to a meeting or something that I need to do or know. I remember in the not to far distant pass the art of writing notes. When we visited someone and they were not home we would leave a note, “I was here”. We constantly have notes these days written to us in the form of messenger, text, and voice mails. One of the things that has happened is the lost art of communication. When was the last time you sent a thank you note or birthday card. I still love to receive those special notes. However we constantly take the easy and the most widely traveled way of communicating.
I was thinking in my prayer time, if the Holy Spirit left us a note what would say. I began to see a variety of sticky notes posted in various places where I would surely see them. I started to review and think in reflecting what would those notes say about my actions and response to God of the day. Would our notes say “Good Job”, “You served well” or would they say “seek forgiveness for —“, “trust more in this area of your life”, “be kinder” “be more gentle in responding to others” and so on. These Holy Spirit sticky notes will say different things to each of us in regards to where we are in our faith journey.
Praying through the times I know I disappointed God and anxious to hear the words “well done, good and faithful”. I know I’m not there yet, but I am striving for it. Are you?
