Why Are You Cast Down ?

Scripture focus – Psalm 42: 11 Why are you cast down, O my soul,  and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.

Why do we experience discouragement?

I think there are a couple of reasons. We talk ourselves into it ! We allow situations going on around us  to talk us in to it ! We allow others to talk us in to it! We are placing our source of strength in the wrong areas.

I recently read a devotional that “in times of discouragement, it is in those times we realize that something better is on the way.” It calls for us to trust. If we truly believe that God will always make a way then the new thing that God is desiring to do in our lives will spring forth. 

But it will take trust and complete trust. Not trusting in ourselves or another for the answer, but trusting in God through prayer and our response to the answered prayer.

I have come to realize that many times I don’t have the answer, or at least the answer others want to hear. The answer to our despair can only be found in Jesus and trusting in Jesus.
