 Day 9: Prayer for Courage

Scripture: Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

I believe  we are facing times where we will have to rely upon prayer to keep us from being discouraged by the things that are going on around us. We are facing a time where we are allowing the situations of the world, and what other people are doing to really drag us down.

In the scripture from Joshua 1:9 we are hearing God speak directly to us. To be strong during every circumstance  with courage.  I can remember as a young guy having to walk in the dark. There was always a fear that something would jump out and scare you or even take you captive. It is not that much different today; we walk in a very shadowy world and are fearful of what will jump out at us. That is why we need to deeply rely on prayer for God’s protection, so that we are not drawn into situation’s that are there to destroy us.

We need courage every day. Courage to follow the way of Jesus!

Prayer:  Lord, help me to be strong and courageous. Let me not be afraid or discouraged, for You are with me wherever I go. Praying in Jesus name. Amen
