PRAY OCTOBER – 31 Days of Prayer, Scripture, and Devotions to move us closer in our relationship with Jesus.
Day 24: Prayer for Trust
Scripture: Psalm 37:3-5 Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. 4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
Psalm 37 is a powerful Psalm where David is calling on God for protection against his enemies. It speaks to the need to trust in God, even in the midst of the challenges of the world.
One of the personal struggles I have had is trust. I have experienced the hurt of being betrayed by someone I trusted. I am thankful that I have a loving God to turn to who will hear all of my cares, comfort me, and give me hope. I do realize the need to receive all that God wants to do.
Trusting God means believing that He is our defender and will fight our battles. David’s plea for divine intervention shows his unwavering faith in God’s justice and mercy. He didn’t rely on his own strength; instead, he surrendered his fears and struggles to God, trusting in His deliverance.
In our lives, we too must place our trust in God. One of the main issues in our earthly pilgrimage to an eternal home is our lack of trusting in God, the good and pleasing perfect will of God.
Choosing instead to trust in the things of the world, our selves, opinions, and situations. Like never before we need to turn back to God. Turning back to God acknowledges His power and believing that He is always in control, working for our good even when we can’t see it. Let’s remember that His protection and love are unfailing, and lean into that trust daily.
Remember, this trust in God isn’t just for the big battles; it’s for the everyday moments, too. Allow His strength to guide you, and you’ll find peace and confidence in His presence. Now it is up to me to and you !
Prayer: Lord, I commit my way to You. Help me trust in You, knowing that You will act on my behalf. Praying in Jesus name – Amen
