How Is It With Your Soul?
Moving in.
Prepared by Pastor Calvin Cook – 11-20-24
Scripture focus – Psalm 91:1-2 1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
I have a friend who is preparing to move. Because of some present conditions and changes in his life he is moving to a new neighborhood, a new job, and a change in life situations. I am watching and praying as some days are filled with excitement and some with frustration.
As I pray for new beginnings and the old to pass away, I am so reminded of the decision each of us must make for our soul. We have all the options before us. Some good and some not so much. However it is up to us, where we will decide to reside either in the “shelter of the most high” or in the things that constantly destroy us, beat us down, and ultimately defeat us.
One of the first things that must take place in a move is a plan. How can we attain shelter in the most high God when we don’t plan. When we allow the distractions and circumstances of the world around us to be our focus.
I am taking some time this morning to pray and ask God for direction. I desire to be in that place that is filled with the presence of God. God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is there. We just need to move into that presence.
