Thanksgiving and Soul Care – A Thanksgiving Devotional –

How Is It With Your Soul ?

Soul Care with Thanksgiving.

Prepared by Pastor Calvin Cook – 11-28-24

Scripture focus –  Psalm 9:1 – “I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.”

Let us Pray – Lord, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude. We thank You for Your endless love, Your unfailing promises, and the many ways You have blessed our lives. Help us to cultivate a thankful soul that continually praises You, regardless of our circumstances. May our gratitude draw us closer to You and be a testimony to Your greatness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

What does it mean to be thankful in our soul?

When we are truly thankful in our soul, it means that our gratitude is deeply rooted and not dependent on our circumstances. It means acknowledging God’s hand in every aspect of our lives and trusting that He is working all things together for our good. A thankful soul finds reasons to praise God even in difficult times because it recognizes that His love and mercy endure forever.

Experiencing gratitude is a powerful force that transforms our lives and enriches our soul. Psalm 9:1 invites us to give thanks to the Lord with all our heart and to recount His wonderful deeds. Where are you and where would you be without God? This verse serves as a reminder that gratitude is more than just a fleeting emotion; it is a deliberate act of worship and recognition of God’s goodness and faithfulness in our lives.

We are who we are because of what we choose to embrace and receive into our lives in bountiful ways. We do a really good job at sharing our Thanksgiving when it comes to family, home, happiness, all that we have. Are we thankful that God’s love for us is poured out in a way that changes our soul perspective. That in this journey through life we will all come to stand before Jesus because of what Jesus did for us through the forgiveness and redemption of sins. Have you been thankful in your soul for grace?

Now go and tell! With thankful and grateful hearts share how God is working in your life, how you have received forgiveness for your sins, and how very thankful you are that Jesus offered you and continues to offer new life.

If you are doubting all of this today. Know that God does love you and that Jesus has interceded on your behalf and wants to be your ransom for sin. Accept Jesus today and if you need to talk, I am here for you.
