RANDOM THOUGHTS on FRIENDSHIPS
Thinking about friendships. Realizing that our friendships have become so distant. We have social media friendships, but whatever happened to hanging out, playing games, ice cream socials, front porch sitting, and wanting to be together. I am blessed with some good friends but I miss the times of just being together in person. The only time we seem to get together is for a meeting or an agenda item to be checked off. In the midst of all of that we are in the greatest period of loneliness struggles that we have ever been in. We all need good friends and to be a good friend. Only we can change that !
I have been praying a series of guided prayers every morning. Each request begins with “I plead the blood of Jesus over”.
One of the prayers this morning spoke to my heart in a very big way –
Lord, I speak the blood of Jesus over my friendships and social connections. I ask that you would surround me with people who uplift, encourage and bring me closer to you. Let the blood of Jesus cleanse every friendship that is not aligned with your will and protect me from relationships that may be toxic, harmful, or misleading. I declare that by the power of the blood my friendships are established on love, trust, and mutual encouragement. May I be a true friend who demonstrates love, grace, and faithfulness.
Romans 14:19 So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.
