Following Jesus From the Edges – “And It Came to Pass”.

AND it CAME to PASS – DEVOTIONALS –
From the sermon on December 28th and 29th, 2024 preached at Kane Community and East Kane Methodist Church – by Pastor Calvin Cook, titled “And it Came to Pass” (you can catch the service and sermon on our You Tube Channel Kane Community Methodist Church. There are a few things we have to learn and realize about this simple, many times over looked phrase of 5 words “And it CAME to PASS”. Amid discernment, reading, and studying scripture that in many cases where this phrase is used it speaks of the REVELATION of GOD to the people of God. Many instances in calling the recipient of the revelation into a deeper commitment to listen, act upon, follow, demonstrate and live the life that we have all been called to and created for. In my simple mind of understanding God – the first thing and the most important thing that God desires of us is a relationship with God. Not just visiting occasional but a committed, one on one personal all the time relationship with God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and in whatever form and fashion God chooses to call us and use us we will full attention and commitment follow.

These devotionals which begin tomorrow will call us to go deeper. Deeper in relationship, deeper in commitment, deeper in our striving for holiness and righteousness and deeper in the way we act upon God’s revelations and demonstrate in these holy attributes in the way we live our lives. I don’t believe in anyway this will be for the faint of heart. I do believe it will change us, renew us, and show us what is important and that leads us to an eternal mindset.
Along with meditating on these scriptural truths and devotionals it is my hope that we continue to remember this as we pray to be reminded of the covenant that God has made with his people who turn to him. That God desires to deliver us from our own sinfulness and breaks down on the barriers in a relationship with God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit by us saying – “yes – I receive Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and pray for forgiveness of my sins.”

So prayerfully we approach this new journey together seeking to know and experience the best life possible that can and will be found in Jesus Christ. These devotionals are yours – if there is one of the scripture verses that speaks to your heart we welcome your contribution to these devotionals. It is my prayer that we become more than a church in the Allegheny highlands, but a living breathing expression of the power of God. Find comfort in knowing that you are a child of the highest God and nothing can or should separate you from that great love.
These devotionals will be found on our Facebook pages and you can subscribe to receive them emailed to you by registering your email at www.PastorCalvinCook.com . Let’s grow together and be emersed as followers of Jesus in the presence of Christ.
