What Defines Us –

Psalm 34:17-19 (NIV): “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.”
Reflecting on Joseph’s life this past week, one key lesson stands out: Joseph did not allow his current circumstances to dictate who he would become. Despite everything he faced, he remained unwavering in his devotion to God. This is something that can be hard for us to grasp because we often only see our present struggles. It’s difficult to see beyond the immediate to the hope of deliverance.
In times like these, the Psalmist reminds us to remain focused on God, who loves us, created us, and cares deeply for us. We can trust that, with a heart set right, God will continually make a way for us. No matter the situation, faithfulness to Him brings us closer to the deliverance that awaits.
