Allow It To Happen

Following Jesus from the Edges
Last night in an online prayer group I’m praying with, I felt a prompting to end the time with this scripture from Ephesians 3:20-21. (Personal note Eph 3:20-21) has been a go to scripture in my life. I share this after listening to and even sharing some of my own frustrations with life, things that need done, and the excuses that I make about why I can’t do or put off some of the necessary things that I need to do. When in the midst of everything I have everything, I need, I just need to allow God to happen.
Rewind to the story of Joseph and how is life and story is a testimony to God’s power working through our lives, even amid struggles. Betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, and unjustly imprisoned, Joseph’s journey was marked by pain and adversity. Yet, throughout his trials, he held steadfast to his faith, allowing God’s power to work within him.
Despite the desperation of his circumstances, Joseph trusted in God’s plan. From a pit to Potiphar’s house, and from a prison cell to the palace, God’s hand guided Joseph. Joseph’s story is a vivid illustration of how God can do exceedingly more than we can ask or imagine.
Today, we might be facing our own “pits” and “prisons” – periods of hardship, uncertainty, or despair. However, Ephesians 3:20-21 reminds us that God’s power is at work within us, able to accomplish far beyond our expectations. When we surrender our struggles to Him, we open ourselves to His miraculous interventions.
Just as Joseph’s life was transformed by God’s power, so too can ours be. We are encouraged to hold onto our faith, even when the path seems dark. Trust that God is working behind the scenes, orchestrating His perfect plan. His power within us is capable of turning our trials into triumphs, our pain into purpose.
Let us glorify Him, knowing that He can and will do abundantly more than we dare to dream. Amen.
