Isaiah 43 Devotionals
Journey of Unity

Key Verse: “I will bring your offspring from the east, and from the west I will gather you.” (Isaiah 43:5)
We need each other! We need to be together in a fellowship that passes lines of disparity and pain to be together and in a caring fellowship. I presently see and hope I do not offer this appearance, those who’s whole goal is on self.
One of the virtues that continues to spring forth in the early church is unity. Acts Chapters 1-5 records the ascension of Jesus, the pouring out of the Holy Spirit, the birth of the Church, and a church that was extremely focused on faith, being together and prayer. If we could embrace a minor portion of this commitment, we would begin to experience in a new way what it means to be together in purpose that glorifies Jesus.
One of the things that speaks to me in regard to the prophecy of Isaiah is that Isaiah was speaking to a whole nation to return to God. The whole nation had left God in search of other things. The call back came from Isaiah and other Prophets raised up to spread this call. God was calling a whole nation back to a holy faith and life of righteousness, being unified in fellowship for the glory of God, and genuine authentic relationship. Apply these thoughts to where it needs applied in life today.
When was the last time you just got together with a group of friends to just be together and experience God together other than what is scheduled through the church or by the Pastor. We talk of wanting to do it but do we do it. When was the last time you desired to just be present with someone or group to not find out information, or ask for something, or complete a project. A time when the center was Jesus, and the fellowship was Holy. Maybe this is why we can’t answer the question “How is it with your soul?” because we are so focused on the it, whatever it may be.
If there is anything that I hope you grasp from this morning’s devotional is that we are being called back, all of us, to the center of God’s heart, a place where all anxiety ceases, where holy fellowship takes place, and where we are met by the care and love of God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Lent is a time to reflect on how God is drawing His people together through Christ. His sacrifice on the cross unites us in faith and purpose. As we prepare for Easter, we are reminded of our shared journey as one body in Christ.
Reflection: How does Lent draw you closer to God and others? Pray for unity among believers and seek to live in harmony with those around you.
