What Will God’s New Creation Look Like?

Scripture focus: “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” – Isaiah 43:19
God is always at work—renewing, restoring, and redeeming. When the Prophet Isaiah spoke these words (about 750 BC) to Israel, they were in exile, unsure of their future. But God reminded them that He was not finished. God was making a way through the wilderness, streams in the wasteland. Just as God is continuing to do today in the barrenness, strife, anguish and uncertainty that we are living in.
That promise “I am doing a new thing” echoes through time. In Jesus, God did the ultimate “new thing.” The cross was not the end—it was the beginning. Through His resurrection, death became life, sorrow turned to joy, and despair was replaced by hope.
So, what will God’s new creation look like? It will look like dry bones rising, broken hearts mended, the lost finding their way home. It will look like mercy triumphing over judgment, like peace over anguish. It will look like people once bound by sin now walking in freedom, communities once forgotten now flourishing in grace. It will be a great time of celebration as we gather as the people of God to be the people of God, living into all that God has planned since the beginning of time.
And maybe, just maybe—it starts with you. Can you perceive it?
God is not done with this world. He’s not done with you. Look around. The new thing is springing up—quietly, steadily, powerfully. In every act of love, every step of faith, every word of truth—you’re glimpsing His new creation.
Today, open your heart. Watch for His work. And join Him in making all things new.
