God’s New Creation in ME

Key Verse: “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19)
Through out this season of lent we have been speaking a lot about the new thing that God is desiring to do, the old that needs to be left behind, the promises that God has made, the personal relationship God desires to have for each of us and recently the call upon our life to be disciples and witnesses for the glory of God.
This morning, I want to ask the question and hope through prayer, sacrifice, and a sense of sincerity and commitment that you will be open to hear, receive and put into action this new thing that God is doing. This is what the scripture from Isaiah 43:19 means when it reads “do you not perceive it?”
As we focus individually not only as the body of Christ and as individuals called according to the mission of God, there is now urgency to move beyond that which has held us back so that we can move into this new season of life that God is calling us to.
I believe one of the main points that this journey through Isaiah 43 has reminded me to is that God is always at work, always has been, always will be, bringing renewal and restoration. Just as He promised Israel a new path through the wilderness, He offers us new life through Jesus. His resurrection is the ultimate “new thing,” transforming death into life and despair into hope.
But are we receiving it and moving into this new season and the new things that we are being called to? Or have we become so use to the same old things, done the same old ways, without much anticipation or expectation of change. Has this attitude and idea become our crutch instead of leaning into Jesus.
I hope and pray that we are willing to accept the renewal that the move of the Holy Spirit is wanting to bring into our lives, our marriages or singleness, our families, our communities, our schools, our businesses, and especially our churches! It is this move of God that will make us complete and nothing else.
May our eyes, ears, heart and soul be opened to see, hear, feel, and know the new thing that is springing forth from God. The only thing that is stopping us is us.
