WE ARE ALL AT THE CORNER – What next?

Turning the Corner in Trust

Scripture: Acts 1:7 — “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by His own authority.”

This week I like most every preacher in the world will be focusing on the Ascension of Jesus, 40 days after the resurrection, as recorded in Acts 1. This year because of the focus I have tried to keep, the truth of the Gospel has really come alive and brought new revelation into my life. I hope those who follow these devotions have in some way experienced the same.

I believe there are times in our life that situations and even the direction that comes from scripture becomes ordinary, expected, and even at times the thought enters our mind – “that is a nice story” but we don’t allow the newness of God’s word to spring forth and change our life in the today.

Acts 1 reads that Jesus called His disciples to a mountain before His ascension. Imagine standing there—uncertain, eager, maybe even afraid. You’ve seen His power, heard His words, and now you wonder what’s next. Would He finally restore Israel? Would He remain with them? What would He say or do in this defining moment?

Instead of giving them the answers they had come expecting to have answered; “When will the Kingdom of Israel be restored”, Jesus called them to trust! Jesus reminded them that God’s authority holds the future, not their own understanding. He didn’t leave them with empty waiting—He left them with a promise: Power is coming! The Holy Spirit is on the way!

The same is true for us. If you feel stuck, uncertain, or longing for change—your breakthrough moment is coming. Actually, I believe if we are faithful to listening and experiencing God we have regular break through moments. But we are all about the big ones, and regrettably we don’t always recognize God’s presence in the ordinary. I truly believe that the Holy Spirit is trying desperately to prepare us for what’s next. “Are you perceiving it?” And if not, why? Turning the corner in faith isn’t about knowing all the answers—it’s about trusting that the answer is already in motion.

Today, imagine you are on that mountain. What would you be asking Jesus? Are you waiting for clarity before stepping forward in faith? Are you ready to turn the corner to the new thing God is desiring to do in your heart, mind, and soul?

Prayer: Lord, help me turn the corner from uncertainty to trust. Even when I don’t see the full picture, I believe You are working, and my breakthrough moment is coming. Amen.
