BEING FOUND FAITHFUL –
June 27, 2025
Scripture : Acts 6:5-7 This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, also Phillip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism. They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them. So, the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith. (NIV)
In the early days of the church, there was a situation that arose that there were those who were not being cared for by the church as was promised in the early covenants that were made in the church. And so, with the leading of the Holy Spirit a group of people were raised up to address a very important ministry of caring for others. This group led by Stephen was described “as a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit.”
Please remember that these are just ordinary people living with extra ordinary faith. Realizing the need for leaders they based their decisions on the one who was filled with the Spirit. In the reading through the scripture, we might not see the faithfulness or actions of the other 6 – but in Stephen’s life we see his faithfulness to live boldly, and be faithful even unto death (chapter 7).
Fast forward to now. There is discussion in the modern-day church about faithfulness. Faithfulness in our love of God, faithfulness in giving and tithing, faithfulness in service, faithfulness in evangelism and outreach, faithfulness to leadership. In the church and in all organizations for that matter, we are living in a time like never before where leaders, workers, supporters are so desperately needed. Not just money in the offering plate, but hearts and minds with a passion and desire to serve Jesus and make Jesus known.
Recently (this week) I was spending time with a covenant brother. Our conversation turned to what it means to live out our call and why we do what we do. I realize at times I am a bit overwhelming to some, but I just am experiencing such great conviction of what I feel the Holy Spirit is calling me to. I was overcome with emotions and shared that my whole desire was “to be found faithful.” I just have come to a place in my relationship with God and know there are others in that same place where this becomes essential.
There are still many things in my everyday life that need challenged and corrected. But being found faithful isn’t about perfection. It’s about consistently showing up, serving, and living for Jesus wherever you are. It’s about letting your daily choices reflect the One you follow, trusting that God sees and uses your faithfulness in ways you may not even notice.
Where is God calling you to be faithful today?
Are you faithfully showing up in your family, church, or community even when no one sees?
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you live a faithful, consistent life that points others to Jesus.
When we are found faithful, God moves through us to Bless others, advance His Kingdom, and make Jesus known right where we are.
It is about being found faithful. Want to talk more? Let me know –
