Devotional: In the Midst of Everything

Scripture: “Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10
Life rarely slows down. Our schedules fill, our responsibilities weigh heavy, and distractions press in from every side. In the midst of everything—whether it’s joy, sorrow, busyness, or weariness—there is a gentle invitation from God: draw near.
Prayer, scripture, and quiet moments with the Lord are not luxuries for when we finally “find time.” They are lifelines for our souls. When we stop to pray, even if only for a few minutes, we realign our hearts with the One who holds all things together. When we open scripture, God’s voice cuts through the noise and brings clarity, comfort, and direction. When we draw close to Him, He draws close to us (James 4:8).
You may feel too busy, too burdened, or too distracted—but it is in those very moments that you most need to step aside and breathe in God’s presence. He doesn’t ask you to carry everything alone. He asks you to come to Him, to lay it down, and to rest in His love.
What is filling your mind and heart right now that makes it hard to be still before God?
How can you carve out even a few minutes today to pause, pray, and read scripture?
What does it mean to you personally to “draw closer to God” in this season of life?
Prayer: Lord, in the midst of everything, help me to stop and turn my heart toward You. Teach me to find quiet moments in my day to pray, to open Your Word, and to rest in Your presence. Draw me closer, so that in You I may find strength, peace, and joy that the world cannot give. Amen.
We would love to hear your testimony of experiencing God in the quiet corners of your life. Your words might help someone to experience God in a fresh new way.
