NOW IS THE TIME – Following Jesus From the Edges –

Now Is the Time

Monday, September 29, 2025

From the Bible — “For he says, ‘In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.’ I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” — 2 Corinthians 6:2

I am really a procrastinator at heart. I confess that, probably those really close to me know that. I have really good inspiration, intention, and ideas, but sometimes I wait just a little to long to respond. However, of recent I have come to realize in a very real way that there comes a moment when the weight of life and everything that is happening around us collides with what God is doing. We begin hearing the call to that which is important. Do not ignore what something inside of us knows: this is the moment to respond.

Too often, we convince ourselves that we have more time. More time to think. More time to change. More time to plan. More time to get serious about God. But Scripture reminds us that the day of the Lord is upon us, and the invitation to enter into relationship with Him is not one we should delay. This also includes coming back to the place that God desires you to be, if you have wondered off on your path.

When you sense God stirring your heart, don’t push it aside. That stirring is His call of love—drawing you out of old patterns, away from sin and emptiness, and into a life made new in Christ. I don’t want it to sound like I am using a scare tactic here, but I’m realistic and have experienced that tomorrow may not happen. The decision to trust Him cannot wait until tomorrow, because tomorrow is not promised.

To step into a new relationship with God is not to arrive at perfection but to open the door of your life to His presence. It means saying “yes” to grace, “yes” to forgiveness, and “yes” to the hope that only Christ offers. It is to move from darkness into light, from wandering into belonging.

If you have already said all the yeses, and have drifted away. Then maybe you are being called to more. A more devoted life to spiritual disciplines, maybe a call back to being right with God, maybe it is a call back to know fully that first love that has been forsaken for other things.

The Lord is near today. His Spirit is here, calling you by name. Don’t wait any longer—now is the time.

Prayer- Gracious God, today I hear Your voice calling me to You. Forgive my hesitation, my excuses, and my delays. I turn to You now, surrendering my heart and life into Your hands. Fill me with Your Spirit, guide me in Your truth, and help me walk in the newness of Your love. Today, I say yes to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
