The thoughts I share in this post are purely mine and do not reflect the opinion of anything I am affiliated with.
This morning I read an email from the Voice of the Martyrs with regards to the persecution of Christians and Christianity in Laos.
Christians in Laos are facing persecution, including discrimination, pressure to renounce their faith, and restrictions on religious activities, although the constitution guarantees religious freedom.
While some can worship in house churches and other settings. Many face challenges even loosing their homes at the will of the government and being displaced. Some of have been imprisoned and even killed.
I am not ashamed or embarrassed to share the following:
Here is what bothers me, grieves me. We still have every right to stand firm in our faith and practice religion regardless of what that religion is. But at some point those of us who seek to worship and follow God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit will need to stand firm and speak the name of Jesus over every situation.
I am not encouraging an uprising just a personal commitment to live out the call of discipleship and return to the principles of the Acts church – where the early church was “devoted to the Apostles teaching, the breaking of bread, fellowship, and prayer.” (Acts 2:42)
To my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ will you seriously consider the call to be the people of God we have been called and raised up to be. Will you share with someone that Jesus is the way , the truth, and the life and new life begins by believing and accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life – will you become a disciple that embraces all the teachings of scripture, the power and move of the Holy Spirit in our present day, and seek redemption for the transformation of our own lives and the lives of our family, friends, and communities.
To the skeptic even the unbeliever. To the one who once believed – it is not about religion or even church attendance for that matter – it is about the transformation of the soul and giving your heart to Jesus. If you want to talk about this, ask, I am willing to share my limited knowledge of who God is and how my life has changed. I am certainly not perfect or ever will be – but every day I am being transformed into a new creation. And… here is the good news it can and will happen with you.
The time is now – do not delay –
I am here for you – I’m praying for you and willing to pray with you –
Peace –
A sinner in need of redemption –
