Righteousness Being Restored. A cry from the Edges.

Righteousness Being Restored

Pastor Calvin Cook

“In righteousness you will be established; tyranny will be far from you; you will have nothing to fear. Terror will be far removed; it will not come near you.” Isaiah 54:14 (NIV)**

There comes a point in every life when we must ask the deeper questions—not about what surrounds us, but about what is happening within us. Isaiah 54:14 takes us straight to the heart of that truth: righteousness must be restored before anything else can be restored.

We often assess our lives by circumstances:

What am I facing?

Who is against me?

What pressures are closing in?

What threats feel too heavy to bear?

But Scripture teaches us to begin somewhere else entirely:

Where am I in my soul?

Where am I in my relationship with God?

Where am I in my walk with Him?

Throughout the entire Bible, there is a clear pattern. When God’s people drift away from Him, trouble soon invades their space. Not because God delights in our struggle, but because distance from Him removes us from experiencing Him. It is like walking in the rain without an umbrella.

But when His people return… when their hearts soften… when righteousness is restored…when relationship is repaired… it will be then that peace will replace fear, and security will replace the anxiety and confidence in God’s grace will replace the confusion of the things of the world and evil that draw us away.

Isaiah 54:14 is not only a promise of what God will do—it is a reminder of where we must live.

“In righteousness you will be established…” meaning that in my life I need to realize that in righteousness restored, your strength, stability, and safety come from living in right relationship with God.

Not from circumstances.

Not from earthly security.

Not from people’s approval.

But from God Himself.

When your soul is aligned with Him, the ground beneath you steadies. The chaos loses its grip. What once frightened you loses its voice. This is the life God desires for you—not brokenness, but restoration. Not distance, but closeness. Not fear, but righteousness.

It is living within God’s presence, God’s will, and God’s peace.

I want that, more than anything !

Prayer: Lord, restore righteousness within me. Bring my heart back into alignment with Yours. Where I have drifted, draw me close. Where fear has taken root, plant Your peace. Establish me in Your presence, Your truth, and Your love. In You alone, may my soul be secure. Amen.
