Lenten Devotional – Day 11- Day 11 March 5, 2026

Read Colossians 1:15-23

The Supremacy of the Son of God

We must walk by faith and not move from the hope of the gospel; become a servant of God and remain faithful as Paul did in his letter to the Colossians.

We often stray saying, “I’m going to do what I want with my life.” When we say this the only thing we accomplish is ruining our lives. We have free will to make things worse or make things better.

We all commit sins, but our sinfulness is deeper than our sins. We can’t try to make things right by doing a lot of good things, hoping to get closer to God. Sinfulness will creep back in, no matter how much good we do.

Our purpose on earth is to be redeemed to live with God in heaven for eternity. We are to proclaim our faith; share it with others. It was for this reason that Jesus came into the world; not just to heal the world, to perform miracles, but to die for our sins so we can repent of our sins to live with God for eternity. We must be united with God and be in a right relationship with Him. It’s only when we do this, that the power of God can work in our lives.

God is our creator and Redeemer. Through our continued faith and hope in Him we find our redemption.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for everything you have given us. Lead us more deeply into your life. Give us a deeper sense of your presence in our lives. Help us continue our faith journey and not lose hope. In your holy name we pray, Amen.
