Today’s devotional has been prepared by the Kane Community Methodist Church’s After School Program which gathers immediately after school for grades Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. Under the guidance of Miss Chelcie and various volunteers – todays devotional has been prepared and submitted from these young hearts who gather to have fellowship, rest, learn together, have help with homework and are learning about God. As I share this devotional I am reminded of the artist picture of Jesus with a smile on his face gathering with children. May this child like faith speak to your heart.
God – the Rock
Day 13 – March 6, 2026
Devotional submitted by KCMC After School Program
Read Psalm 95
In Psalm 95, God was talking to the people. This psalm opens with an invitation calling us to worship and reminding us that God is the rock of our salvation.
This psalm serves as a beautiful reminder that God is the Creator, holding the depths of the earth and the mountain peaks in His hands. The sea is His, and He formed the dry land.
When life feels overwhelming or chaotic, this psalm can help adjust our perspective. The same God who shaped the world is the One we approach in praise. We should praise Him always.
This psalm also reminds us how easy it is to witness God’s power and still resist His leading. A hardened heart doesn’t happen all at once; it develops slowly when we ignore God’s voice, delay obedience, or allow doubt to take root. We must work daily to help our hearts stay soft, loving, and caring.
Psalm 95 calls us to respond today! Not tomorrow, or when it is more convenient. Today is the moment to listen, trust, and follow. Worship and obedience are deeply connected. True worship flows from hearts that are humble and willing to listen.
As we reflect on this psalm, may we come before God with joy, and remain soft-hearted towards His voice. Let our worship be more than words. Let it shape the way we live, trust, and obey God our Shepherd who cares for His people.
Prayer:
Dear God, thank You for making us and taking care of us. Thank You for making the world; the mountains, the oceans, and everything around us. You are strong and mighty and we love You. Please help us listen when You speak to us. Help our hearts stay soft and gentle so we can follow You. When we make bad choices, please forgive us and help us do better next time.
Teach us how to worship You with our songs and with our hearts. Help us praise You, even when it is hard. Thank You for being our Shepherd and helping us every day. We love You and praise You, Amen!
