Today’s devotional From Us for Us has been prepared by our brother in Christ, Ken Wilson. From his heart, Ken shares what it is and means to make God first in your life and that God loves and cares for us so much that the Holy Spirit has been given as a constant reminder of abundant grace. Thanks Ken for sharing this valuable message and thoughts from your heart.

God’s Reality Check –
Devotional by Ken Wilson
Read Isaiah 51:4-8
I would encourage you to read this scripture from the Old Testament. It’s a very powerful message. I took it like a reality check from God. I was reminded that the earth, the sky, the sun will all fade but Gods salvation is forever.
So, I thought to myself what am I doing? Does it really matter? Yes, it does because in Verse 7 it says, “listen to me, you who know right from wrong. You who cherish my word in your hearts.” So now I’m accountable. Because I’m not ignorant to what he says in that verse.
In this day and age of social media convenience and instant gratification seems to be king; everything seems to be replaced with something new every other day. What is the actual cost of those things and living like that on a spiritual level?
I felt like God was telling me it’s time for a change. I need to put him first because He is going to be last. We are saved by accepting Christ our Lord and Savior. But we are accountable for our actions until the end, and we reach his eternal Salvation.
I know we can never be perfect or earn this salvation, but we can be kind. It says in Verse 8 my salvation will continue from generation to generation. That means we are to steward this word to the youth.
Writing this devotion was difficult. It left me with so many thoughts. It made me understand the scale of Gods power in our tiny lives here on Earth and how his gift of Mercy and Salvation make us part of something that will never fade away or ever die. Until I get to have Communion with my creator in Heaven. I’ll be sure to slow down, breathe deeper, enjoy more time with good company, and don’t worry about what the people think. They are not qualified to judge us. This is God’s message for a busy time.
