Cried Out, Prayed and Answered.
Read Psalm 130
In verses 1 & 2 the Psalmist is crying out to God in deep distress and is desperate knowing he cannot save himself. I liken this to when we “ONLY CALL UPON GOD” when we have reached the end of our “rope.” We are like the psalmist crying out for healing and help in our time of desperate need, and don’t know where to turn to.
In verses 3 & 4 we see that God doesn’t keep record of our sins. He wants to show mercy and forgiveness. His mercy is our only hope!
In verses 5 & 6 we often wait and expect to see immediate results and response from God. That isn’t how He works. His schedule isn’t the same as ours. Things need to change in our lives before we see and answer, and sometimes we may not see the answer.
Verses 7 & 8 conclude that we need to trust in God and we need to thank Him for His goodness.
Above all we need to thank Him for the gift of His son, Jesus who assures us eternal life by his dying on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.
Prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your Word. Thank You for Your promises that You are always present and eager not only to hear us but to help us through every challenge.
Today, we humbly approach You, knowing the situation we face is difficult. You have said that we can call on You at any time, and so we do so now.
We ask that You surround us with Your love and help us truly feel how deeply You care about us and want to guide us through these times.
We believe that when we bring our requests to You, You promise to give us the peace we need right now and to guide our steps forward.
Help us to remember and trust that You will never leave us. Nothing can separate us from Your presence, as Your Word assures us.
Just as the disciples said to You, Lord, “Who else do we have” You have the words of life,” we hold onto that truth.
Thank You for the caring Christian friends You’ve placed in our lives; those who meet us, support us, pray with us. We ask You to bring Your healing, peace, and presence to us. When words fail us, we trust You know what we need most.
We ask all this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
