Devotionals By Us For Us

The Long Term

Read Jeremiah 32:36-41

Despite Jerusalem’s impending destruction, God promises ultimate restoration, an everlasting covenant and deep abiding relationship with His people. Even in the dark, deserved judgment, God vows to gather, restore and joyfully do good to them.
Often, we feel our mistakes or difficult circumstances mean God has abandoned us. Jeremiah 32 shows that even when God permits discipline, He is still present.
God promises a new covenant where He doesn’t just ask us to be good but puts the fear of Himself in our hearts so we don’t turn away. It is a promise that He will sustain us, ensuring our spiritual security through Christ.

It is not a burden for God to bless you; it is His delight. He is deeply committed to your long-term good.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the promise that You will never stop doing me good. When I am in trouble, help me to trust that You are with me, and will bring me through. Let me be assured that You are for me with all Your heart and soul, Amen.
