Day 8 – How is it With Your Soul –
The Soul Care Invitation
Prepared by Pastor Calvin Cook (11-11-24)
Isaiah 55:1-3 – “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. 2 Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. 3 Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, my faithful love promised to David.
Soul care is essential and needed every day. This morning the roller index in my mind is flipping through many thoughts and things. Most in being open to the Holy Spirit is speaking truth and hope into my life. However, every so often the enemy is trying to slip in a thought or change my course and my thought process.
Yesterday I preached from one of my favorite sections of scripture Isaiah 55. This morning this was the first scripture I turned to, to be reminded of the great invitation that is constantly being issued to each and every one of us. The invitation is for our spiritual needs to be met when we meet God in a holy place. A place where we will be spiritually fed, a place where there is no cost only a willingness to experience the covenant that has been promised to us. I like that option a whole lot more than the other costly options that are there for us.
Today as we close I want to encourage you into some quiet time with the Lord to:
Assess Your Soul’s Thirst: Take a moment to reflect on how it is with your soul. Are you feeling spiritually nourished or parched? Consider where you are seeking fulfillment and if it truly satisfies.
Accept God’s Invitation: Embrace the invitation to come to God and receive the nourishment only He can provide. Spend time in prayer, read His word, and open your heart to His presence.
Rest in His Covenant: Find comfort in the knowledge that God’s love for you is everlasting. No matter what you face, His promises are sure and His love is unchanging.
Prayer – Heavenly Father, thank You for inviting us to come to You and be filled with Your love and grace. Help us to turn away from things that do not satisfy and to seek You with all our hearts. May our souls find rest and nourishment in Your everlasting covenant. Thank You for Your faithful love. In Jesus’ name, Amen
