Remembering What Matters Most

Scripture: Colossians 2:6–7 (NIV) — “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
My schedule every day is usually full. With some things that are planned as well as the unexpected things that arise that call for attention. Amid all of life it is so important not to get sidetracked but amidst everything to keep centered.
In the busyness of life—deadlines, routines, and distractions—it’s easy to forget what truly matters. But Scripture reminds us to remember the foundation of our lives: Jesus Christ.
Faith isn’t just a moment; it’s a daily journey. A life rooted in Jesus means choosing Him over fear, over pride, over self. It’s recalling what He has done—His love shown on the cross, His victory in the resurrection, and His Spirit now living within us.
When we lose sight of Him, we start measuring worth by things that fade—success, popularity, possessions. But when we remember our faith, we remember our true identity: loved, chosen, redeemed.
Praying that before the start of this day that we can take a deep spiritual breath and be reminded of who we are and who’s we are, that we can step back to the beginning and be reminded that all that we have is of God and for God, and that we constantly keep our focus on Jesus.
When we have lost that focus that in these quiet moments of a new day we can say and pray “Lord brings me back to the center of your will – that I will see and know what matters most.” In Jesus name I pray – Amen
Take a moment today to pause. Reflect. Remember. Jesus is enough. Your faith in Him is your anchor, your peace, and your hope.
