The Replacement Theory-

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me…
While still considering the impact of the choices that King Asa and Jehoshaphat made and the result that their choices made, I am considering some of the choices that are necessary to make in my life.
I have long spoke about my idea of what I refer to as the “Replacement Theory”. When we want more of God in our life, we have to clear something wrong or sinful out of life and make more room for God. When this happens many things about us change or should change embracing the idea – more of God less of me or sin or the world or so on, considering what is consuming our lives.
We all have a list of things that we want – whether that list is spoken or unspoken. It could be comfort, recognition, security, control, money, etc… But in the moment, we decide to follow Jesus we should be making a great exchange. Our wants are replaced with His will.
Paul told the Galatians: the “me” that used to chase after personal gain no longer lives it has been replaced with Christ. This is about crucifixion of the things that are destroying us or at the very least tearing us up in our soul and causing great conflict. When these things are crucified, we are resurrected to new life with Christ.
Here is for us to consider. This change does not happen by accident; it must be intentional. Though Satan seeks to steal, kill, and destroy – Jesus offers us new life and that new life is abundant, but most be a choice in heart, mind and soul to receive it.
Each day we must choose – Will this be the day to draw closer to God, leaving behind the things that are seeking to kill, steal, and destroy or will this be the day that we will choose to say – More of God, less of me. More of God less of the things of the world. More of God’s Holy Spirit directing and guiding and less of the pathway that leads to destruction.
Choose wisely because there is a whole lot in our lives and in the world that needs to be replaced with more of God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen.
